Foil Saturdays and Sabre Sundays
Hollywood Sabre hosts open practices every Saturday (foil only) and Sunday (sabre only) from 2pm to 5pm. Fencers, beginner to advanced, are welcome to come and fence bouts, practice footwork at their own rhythm, do unsupervised drills or simply do conditioning exercises. A coach will be available for private lessons during that time. Private lessons are 20-30 minutes and they are essential for aspiring competitors. During a private lesson, in addition to correcting moves and clearing wrongful habits, the student learns advanced techniques and bout tactics one-on-one with the coach.
